Our 'Footballer of the Week'

for this week

goes to:

the Big Black Man, 6-1, 232, who rushed,

linebacked, and pass-blocked like it was

nobody's business in the late '40s and

early 50's with the NFL's Browns, with

a still-career record of 5.7 yards per carry,

and played along with Bill Willis in 1946,

after the NFL ended their racist, color-barrier

ways as the first two of four Big Black Men

Players, and he might have won a Super

Bowl, but that didn't start until 1966,

however,  he still won a NFL

Championship in 1950, and he was let

in the HOF in 1968,

and so much more...

Black Football History Month!... Footballer Of The Week!...Elmo Wright!

Our 'Footballer of the Week'

for this week

goes to:

The Big Black Man, 6-0, 190, who was the

first football player in NFL history to do a

dance after scoring a touchdown on a day

in 1969, as a University of Houston player

against the Florida Gators, and the dance

consisted of several seconds of high

stepping, but many in the crowd and players

on opposing teams didn't like it, and thought

it was unnecessary showboating, however he

loved to do it because, the league stopped

him from spiking the ball after a TD, and

he felt like he had to do some sort of

celebration, and later Elmo would be the

first to do it in the NFL as a member of

the Kansas City Chiefs against the Redskins

in 1973, plus Elmo holds numerous

records at the University of Houston that

still stand today,

and way so much more...

...Elmo Wright!

It is rumored that Elmo once

said, "If you get a Touchdown against a

team that's trying to pulverize you,

you'd dance too!"
