Our 'Footballer Of The Week'

was one of the first football players in the

NFL, and who later switched to acting and

became the first Back Hero and leading

character in a major movie, Sargent

Rutledge, and also starred in Spartacus and

The Ten Commandments, and The Man

Who Shot Liberty Valance, and he was a

serious decathlete, especially in the shotput,

who also attended Jeff High and UCLA,

and who also played with Kenny

Washington and Jackie Robinson on an

undefeated UCLA team in 1939 as

members of 'The Gold Dust Gang,'

plus so much more...

...Woody Strode!

It is rumored that Woody Strode once

said, "When I get in, I'll show them how

it's supposed to played!"

called "The Best!"

Black Football History Month was

founded by Ralph Winge, D.D.S.

in 2025 to recognize, celebrate, and

congratulate, with great pride, the

remarkable and outstanding Black Men,

both past and present, who display(ed)

exceptional skills with exciting and

memorable onfield performances

on game days, in the very popular

sport of American Football.
